No one has measured this
in a human being.

In laboratory conditions and in animal studies, this material has been shown to keep generating hydrogen in the gut for 24 hours. But a record of measuring what actually happens in a person who takes it could not be found in the public databases we searched.

Whether it turns out to be useful, we honestly do not yet know. What we do know is that nobody has done it. That was reason enough to begin.

What is known, and what is not

Research on hydrogen and the body has accumulated for close to two decades. But it has accumulated as far as animals. We begin where it stops.

We do not present findings from animal studies as effects in people. We work only on the bottom row.

The "24 hours of hydrogen generation" referred to on this page is based on experiments under conditions close to the intestinal environment and on reported animal studies. The amount, duration, and appearance in breath in humans have not been established. We make no statement describing effects reported in animals as effects in people.

02

Why nobody else measures

The answer is simple. Because nothing would show up.

Figure 02 — How long generation lasts (schematic)

Something that ends within two hours is already over by the time a customer walks in. Measuring it does not make sense.

What we measure

We measure the hydrogen in exhaled breath. When bacteria in the gut ferment what we eat, hydrogen is produced. Some of it dissolves into the blood, travels through the body, and leaves through the lungs as breath.

Figure 03 — The path hydrogen takes
Gutbacteria ferment, hydrogen forms Blooddissolves andcirculates Lungsblood to air Breaththis is whatwe measure
Breath hydrogen is one of the few windows from outside onto how much fermentation activity is happening in the gut right now.

Not a health check

It is not a test and not a diagnosis.

No normal or abnormal

There is no good or bad value. We do not describe it that way, and our staff will not either.

Not a judgement on your health

It determines nothing about illness.

The number is not a score. It is a scale for seeing your own change.

04

We look at movement, not height

Breath hydrogen moves with what you ate, when you ate it, your constitution, and the state of your gut that day. Taking a single day's number and telling someone "this is you" would mean nothing.

Figure 04 — Only the line between two points
breath hydrogen beforeafter did this line move? time
We put no numbers on the vertical axis. Not high or low in absolute terms — only the movement of one person measured the same way.

What carries meaning is the line drawn when the same person is measured the same way, repeatedly. Before and after. A week ago and today. Whether that line moved is something you confirm with your own eyes. Not the product talking, but your own record.

There is a practical reason too. An instrument has a range, and outside it the absolute value of a given day cannot be stated accurately. Movement can still be followed. Reading movement rather than height is a design decision that takes the limits of the tool honestly.

05

How we measure

It is almost disappointingly simple. You breathe into a bag. That is all. No needles. No blood.

Simple is not the same as careless

A

We hold conditions constant

After carbohydrates in particular, values are known to rise over roughly one and a half to two hours. Yesterday morning and this evening are not a comparison. So before measuring we ask briefly about the last meal, what was eaten, bowel condition, and supplements taken. A number that skips this step is of no use later.

B

The range has limits

An instrument has an upper and a lower bound. Beyond them we do not write "measured" — we write "outside the measurable range." A value pinned to the ceiling is not treated as a measurement. Sensors are replaced on schedule, with calibration and maintenance recorded.

06

Continuing is the strongest part

Measured once, it stays an experience. What we actually want to deliver is continuation.

Figure 07 — A record that accumulates
1 2 3 4 5 first visit a record and a stamp each time continues your line becomes yours

Records are kept both on a paper card and in an app. Stamps accumulate; last time's number is waiting when you return. We want the act of continuing to become the customer's own asset.

07

Starting with 100 people

We have no intention of claiming something grand at the outset. First, 100 people. Then 1,000. Then 10,000.

This is not a clinical trial. These are ordinary records of ordinary days, from people who stopped by while shopping.

We want to see what happens in actual living, not under ideal laboratory conditions.

08

And then what

The question we are asked most. The answer is that each stage has a different purpose. We are not collecting for its own sake.

About the data we hold

If we are to hold someone's numbers, we state how we will treat them first.

Consent before measuring

We explain and obtain consent before measuring, every time — what it is used for, and how far.

Stored in Singapore

Data is stored within Singapore and handled under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

De-identified for analysis

Analysis is performed in a form from which individuals cannot be identified. No one's record leaves as itself.

Real-world observational data

This is not clinical-trial data. We do not call it clinical data, nor present it as such.

Research done properly

Any move into scientific or clinical research goes through proper ethical and regulatory channels. No shortcuts.

Withdrawable at any time

On request, we will stop using or delete a person's records.

10

Why publish something that has not started

Normally this would be announced once it existed. We do the reverse. Publishing makes the building go faster.

01

It removes the exit

Write that you will do it, and you have to. It can no longer be quietly scaled down for internal convenience.

02

It gathers people

Someone will read this and say "we could do that in our store", "those numbers interest me", "I could advise on that." Retail floors, researchers, agencies, regulatory advisors — what a build needs is always outside.

03

It makes customers participants

Not people being measured, but people making the data. One measurement from someone who knows why is worth far more than one from someone who does not.

So we show the middle of the work. What is not going well, and what is undecided, gets rewritten the moment it is decided. This page is not a finished document. It is a record in progress.

11

What we do not promise

Cure, treat, prevent

We do not say it. HG EVO is a dietary supplement, not a medicine, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Speaking of the unverified

We do not present effects reported in animal studies as effects in people, nor write the unconfirmed as confirmed.

Numbers made to look better

If an inconvenient result comes out, we publish that result.

Hydrogen is a molecule with a great deal still unknown about it. Being able to say "we do not know" about what we do not know is, we believe, the surest way to earn trust in this field.

Note: the product name and manufacturer of the measuring device, and actual measured values, are not stated on this page until regulatory confirmation in Singapore (device classification and import registration) and our own preliminary measurement are complete. They will be added once settled. The statement that no record of continuous measurement in humans could be found reflects a search of public databases, and is not an assertion that none exists anywhere.
